Who we are
imato.ai (“imato”, “we”) is provided by the operator of imato.ai. For anything in this policy — questions, access or deletion requests — email info@imato.ai.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
- Your content: the images you upload, the text detected in them, the translations and rendered images we produce, and your glossary entries and preferences.
- Billing: your plan, credit balance and purchase history. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Technical data: server logs such as IP address and request times, used to keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- Analytics: Google Analytics usage data — only if you accept it (see Cookies below).
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your images or translations to train AI models.
How your images are processed
To translate a graphic, image processing runs on GPU workers hosted by RunPod. The text found in your image is processed by Google Gemini models, accessed through OpenRouter, for layout analysis and translation. This happens only to produce the output you asked for.
Storage and retention
Uploaded and generated files are stored on our server until you delete them or your account is deleted. Files are served from long, unguessable URLs — anyone you share such a link with can open that file. You can delete a translation (and its images) from your library at any time.
We use your email address to send sign-in links and messages about your account and purchases.
Cookies and analytics
We set httpOnly session cookies to keep you signed in; they are necessary for the service to work. Google Analytics loads only after you click Accept on the analytics banner — if you decline, nothing from Google Analytics is loaded. Your choice is stored in your browser, and you can change it any time via Cookie settings in the site footer.
Service providers
We share data only with the providers needed to run imato:
- Stripe — payments and invoices
- OpenRouter and Google (Gemini models) — layout analysis and translation of text
- RunPod — GPU image processing
- Our email delivery provider — sign-in and account emails
- Google — “Continue with Google” sign-in (if you use it) and, with your consent, Analytics
Some of these providers process data outside the EU/EEA.
Legal bases
We process your account data and content to provide the service you signed up for (contract), server logs to keep the service secure (legitimate interest), and analytics data only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. To delete your account and everything stored with it, email info@imato.ai from the address you sign in with — we answer within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update this page and, where appropriate, let you know by email.
